The Client
The firm of Wightman, Crane & Stuart has been involved in the import and exportbusiness since its founding in 1865.
The Vision
When Wightman, Crane & Stuart decide to move to QuickBooks Enterprise Edition,they identified some key areas where their billing and invoicing process did not fit the standard model supported by QuickBooks. PJPM was asked to provide solutions that would enforce the correct business rules and provide enhanced productivity.
The Results
PJPM created the Vendor Billing Extensions (VBE) system, a QuickBooks plug-inthat provides additional menu items on the QuickBooks Vendor menu to support export shipments. The screens in the VBE system replace the standard vendor billing and customer invoice screens to provide a seamless workflow tailored to the specialized need of Wightman Crane. The system also features a custom check printing format and an Excel plug-in to support container deconsolidation operations.
