  Cook! SF Fulfillment Excel Template

The Client

Cook! SF is a subscription based service that delivers gourmet meal kits with fresh, wholesome, delicious ingredients to customers at their homes.

The Vision

With the original email-based web site, Cook! SF operations were run using an Excel spreadsheet to record information about subscribers and deliveries. Once the Customer Account Manager web site was ready, Nona Lim, the founder of Cook! SF, conceived a new version of the Fulfillment spreadsheet: in the new version, all data about the next upcoming delivery was downloaded automatically. The spreadsheet would contain everything necessary for prep, packaging, customer payment, and delivery coordination.

The Results

PJPM created the Fulfillment Excel Template, which is a document based Excel plug-in. Each time operations managers start preparations for a new delivery, they create a new spreadsheet using the Fulfillment Template. The template is bound to a Visual Studio Tools for Office plug-in that provides connectivity to the Cook! SF website, QuickBooks, and Intuit Payment Solutions. Together the template and plug-in provide the following features:

  • Full details of each customer’s order
  • The ability to post invoices for all orders to QuickBooks
  • The ability to collect payment for order invoices using Intuit Payment Solutions
  • Summary information to help plan purchasing and packaging of orders
  • A delivery sheet that is used to generate customized packing labels via Word mail merge
  • A delivery list that is organized by route
